First Impressions Team

Our First Impressions Team are the first faces of Port City Church! From the street to their seat, we care about those choosing to spend part of their Sundays with us. Whether it’s directing in the parking lot, shaking hands at the doors, helping people find a seat – it’s truly one of the most important (and MOST FUN!) ways of serving our church. If you can smile, give a firm handshake, and get excited over new people walking in our doors, you are the perfect candidate!

Join the Port City First Impressions Team today! Fill out the form below and someone will be in touch with you.

Prayer Team

“Prayer does not change God, but it changes the one who prays” -Soren Kierkegaard

What if we were known as a praying church? What if we stopped in our conversations in the lobby or in the auditorium or in the parking lot and simply asked God to step in and do His work in our lives, in our marriages, our careers?

We have a prayer team that is on standby each Sunday to pray with people as God does His work. We are excited at the opportunity to point people to Jesus – whether it’s someone surrendering their life to Him or interceding on behalf of our hurting brothers and sisters, we are privileged to come alongside those in need.

If you would like to be a part of this amazing ministry team, send an email to admin@weareportcity.com and we’ll follow up with you.

Kids Ministry

When you Say YES to the next generation, You Say YES to being there for our kids; laughing with them, listening to them, walking through the mess with them. You Say YES I will pray for you and yes I will point you to Jesus. When you Say YES to the next generation, you help them Say YES to God. Say YES to Kids Ministry today.

Youth Ministry

Are you passionate about Jesus and students? Do you believe that faith can be both informative AND fun? If you answered yes, youth ministry might be just the place for you! At our middle school and high school youth groups, we strive to equip our students to understand, own, and express their faith, in each of their daily contexts, both in and outside of the church. And, we can’t do that without the help of passionate individuals who are willing to dive back in to the teen years and walk alongside a small group of kids.

World Mission Thrift Center

Every day, 66,000 people from unreached people groups die having never heard the Word of God. Today, 40% of all the people groups, or nations, in the world remain unreached. World Mission seeks to fulfill the Great Commission by providing the Word of God in an audio format to oral learners living in unreached people groups.

We define the unreached as a people group among which there is no indigenous community of Christians with adequate numbers and resources to evangelize without outside assistance. Following the Holy Spirit’s lead, our ultimate objective is to see these lost souls come to Christ and begin an indigenous church-planting movement.

You can be a missionary without ever leaving West Michigan when you serve as a volunteer! Our volunteers serve in their local communities and make a global Kingdom impact. Not only will you be demonstrating the love of Christ to everyone entering one of our 7 West Michigan locations, but when you volunteer, you will be partnering with us in distributing the gospel and providing humanitarian relief to unreached people in the 10/40 Window.

For every 4 hours you serve as a volunteer, you generate enough revenue to distribute one audio Bible Treasure, impacting the lives of as many as 144 people for Jesus!

Your financial support enables us to continue to reach unreached people groups with the gospel message, allowing those who might otherwise never hear to learn about Jesus’ love and saving grace. Each Treasure costs around $50 but can reach approximately 144 people! We also welcome donations of lightly-used, quality clothing and household goods at our thrift stores.
